We engage in industry and academic collaboration with educational institutions for the purpose of creating new businesses in various fields using artificial intelligence (AI).
Our aim is to contribute towards the development of AI technology by establishing a place where professors and students can demonstrate their research results on AI technologies by holding the business model competitions for those educational institutions.

Kyushu institute of Technology x AI-Lab

Rapid developments of IoT, AI, and 5G reflect various products and services. There are many small and medium-sized enterprises who do not know how to utilize these advanced technologies in their businesses and there is an increasing need to address the idea of using these tools as a more efficient way to solve problems in their businesses.
Our purpose is to provide this competition for students in academia to recognize ways to solve various social issues using IoT, AI, and 5G therefore they can gain the skill of finding and solving. We also support various aspects of planning, assigning judges including costs and awarding of prize money.

Mr Yoshihisa Nakatoh engages in research on support systems for people with disabilities and the elderly at university. Currently, he has been promoting research activities to solve social issues using IoT and AI at the Kyushu Institute of Technology IoT System Infrastructure Research Center.

Mr. Yukihiro Fukumoto has been engaging in the development of digital home appliances utilizing open innovation at an electronics company for 30 years. Since 2017, he has also been promoting research on IoT systems in collaboration with companies.

Daiki Nobayashi

Mr. Daiki Nobayashi engages in research on information networks, multi-hop wireless networks, wireless LAN technologies, sensor networks, etc. In recent years, he has been interested in wireless communication technology and 5G communication that support IoT.

With the rapid spread of IoT and AI, the "literacy" required by society in the future has changed significantly, and the need for human resource development to come up with and create new solutions is increasing every day.
Our purpose is to plan this competition for students who live in diverse worlds to recognize ways to solve various social issues using IoT and AI. We also provide planning and operation staff dispatches judges and awarding of prize money.

Ms. Yumi Ashahi’s main research areas are marketing science, consumer behavior theory, and behavioral metrology. She is widely active both inside and outside the university, such as editorial committee of thesis and academic Journal, and a board mumber of the operations research society of Japan.
